Copper alloy button, less than an inch

Any idea what it is beyond that? Found in a new jersey backyard

That certainly is and interesting button. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it is. By the way, Welcome to the forum from Oregon!

I figured it might be a smaller scale or custom button as opposed to something on a larger scale like a militia button. I think thats why its so hard to find! Thank you!

I personally think you have found something REALLY special.

And I am NOT a "button person". - IE: I know little about them and have had little interest over the years.

BUT... having said that...

I know old / unique when I see it.

BUT AGIAN... I have been fooled by a photo here before.

Hey I just watched a video with that same button in it... not gonna mention names though...but I will say that button is a Beast!!

Small world (or internet)! I'm a coin gal myself so I don't know anything about buttons but it really caught my eye and got me curious. Thanks for the welcome, and as always "have a good day!"

I believe this is one of those flat buttons that breaks the usual rules. ie. later than all the rest. I'll place it in the 1880s.
