Finally got out for a couple hunts. Old detecting buddy Metal Headz wanted to meet up near a spot we had hit years ago. Not a ton of good targets, but fun to get out. The engraved lead piece is my favorite, dated 1879. Very cool.
Awesome!!! Congrats!!!

Well done on the silver and the advertising token.
That's a really cool 146 yr old signed piece.
Is there anything on the otherside of the mount?

Great hunt, congrats.

Thx Pepperj! The lead piece is blank on the back. You mention “mount”. What do you think this was a mount for? “A Christmas Gift from Becky to Brie 1879”. I initially thought it was a hand made brooch or sash buckle type piece. Now thinking it was originally a shiny metal gift “card” that had strings through the holes that tied up a gift bundle of some sort.
