That's really nice that. You were able to track him down and will be able to return it!

Yes we have found them through ancestry. We also have talked to a historian that knew the family personally and are waiting on him to contact us back about which family member we should contact. Being a military member myself we are very excited to get this back to his family and are hoping they're as excited to receive them.

You might consider going 'over the top' and have representatives from the local American Legion and/or the Veterans of Foreign Wars participate in the return of the service tag. Was the tag found in the USA?
Don...

Tnet should have a story of the week section. It's these types of finds and stories that I love the most. I tip my hat to you. Looking forward to the follow up story. :occasion14:

Good Karma will certainly smile on you.

Congrats on the research, I must admit that I find the research aspect almost as enjoyable as swinging the coil. Good Luck on the return. Love the post.

Great to hear that you've been able to track the family down and will be returning the tags to them in the here future. Post up the results of the return, good on ya once again. It's one of the few times it seems that I feel that it's worthy of a Honorable Mention.

Yes they we're found next to Russ pond/pool , ft. Benning

Great job!!! Man I'd love to find and return one of those. Good karma is coming your way. :D
