Cool little glass ampule.... any ideas what's in it?

Found along the harbor bank mixed with lots of busted up trash that spans centuries in randomness. Searched the google and couldn't find one like it. Wonder what the solid is . When shaken up a little it looks completely dissolved but quickly settles out.

Yup, which is a miracle in itself as most glass stuff is busted up on this stretch of bank.

Yours appears more rugged than a medical version. I would venture a guess that it is one of a set of "rare earth" elements from a high school chemistry room. Some that are reactive to air they keep in a liquid like that.
