You ain't kidding

Thanks .. I've found a lot of that type of tool in this area but percentage wise most of them are broken.
I could see why your area would only use shell for adornment and not tools. Being as far down the state of Florida as I am they were making up for a lack of lithic material as you know.
It makes for a comparatively rare assemblage of artifacts

sweet,thanks for sharing.

Nice find on that adze.

Thanks guys.. I'll be back in the game soon.
Just finalizing a real good written permission site I even have access to a bobcat if I want to scrape some areas ... MUHAHA.
This is the back of the property.
The owner has already found artifacts and doesn't even look for them

That looks exciting…can't wait to see what you find.

Very Cool shell adze! :icon_thumleft: I'm happy for you, to be able to find a complete one is not an every day thing I'm sure.

Hey Gator is that a canal or a natural creek? With the high banks I'm guessing a canal. Swatting mosquitoes? Canals are great because the track hoe has cut through thousands of years of habitation. Good luck.

It's actually a natural creek...but cut through just the same.
Lots of fossils too.
It's in the Tampa area.

Thank you very much
