Thats a great find...the best auto item i ever dug was a VW emblem, probably off an old hubcap :icon_thumright:

Fantastic shape! I've dug a few auto related items, but always in much worse condition. The soil out here tends to be unforgiving, especially to anything made of copper.

Nice AAA emblem! Can't believe what great condition its in.

That's the kind of cool thing I like finding. Congrats on a nice find.

Nice Find Chris!
Maybe AAA had individual state memberships before the current regional ones,
They may be able to shed some light on it's origin, I'd email the northern new england branch with some pix.
Good stuff! Keep it comin

Herbie,I googled the pee out of,no matches!!

I don't believe they were part of AAA, perhaps absorbed by it later though. :dontknow: They were based in Montpelier, maybe "AMA"?

Over 90 years ago, on March 25, 1903, twelve Vermonters gathered in the Pavilion Hotel in Montpelier to form the "Automobile Club of Vermont".

The purposes of the "Auto Club of Vermont" were: "To secure rational legislation, rules and regulations governing the use of automobiles, to maintain the lawful rights of owners and users of automobiles, to promose and encourage improvements of the highways of the State and to maintain a social club devoted to automobilism."

By 1905 the club had a total of 103 members. It sponsored two "runs" each year which served two purposes - to enjoy the countryside and to promote the use of the Automobile.

Pic from ebay: I believe the stamp on the envelope was postage in the 1910's.
