Yes, I had to read up on the info about the coin. Pretty interesting. I didn't even think about a G.I. bring it back with them.That's a nice find - likely brought back by a G.I. serving in the vicinity - The Philippines were under U.S. sovereignty after the Spanish, American War - so coinage was produced that was exchangeable for and compatible with U.S. coinage from 1903 -1945. (* thanks to the "Red Book " of U.S. coins for the info. massively paraphrased here )

I've never found one in the ground, but I buy them all the time in miscellaneous foreign bins at coin shows.
