About $375 if it's old, i'd bring some coins see how it IDs and discriminates, make sure it gets a threshold hum, pinpoint/mode trigger switch, bring headphones to check the jack, battery pack and terminals Just basic stuff, won't know 100% til you hit the dirt, good luck

Hello all,

I am considering to get a second hand MXT.

What should I look for when I pick it up? Are there certain parts I should test - as they break or fail over time?

What is the usual market value for a good shape (but old) MXT?

Thank you for any pointers.

Not much goes wrong with them and Whites have great customer service,

When I bought my first MXT I liked it so much that I went out and Sold my E-trac and then bought another MXT Pro, That E-trac has probably been recycled in to a Bumper for a Nissan,, I love a happy Ending,

Not trying to hijack this thing but, I have an m6 that white's put onto an Mxt style rod..at no charge. Top notch at Sweet Home.

I agree it is a great Platform that you can build on and it is on my list of next to buy along with the MXT E-series and the TM 808,

The M6 is just pure enjoyment without having to worry, what more does a person need :tchest:

I am waiting on an M-6 as we speak. How long ago was this that Whites did this for you? I like the MXT style rod much better than the S shape rod.

Thank you, very helpful. Will do!

I bought a used one so I would have a backup or loaner, I picked mine up at a pawn shop for just over $200.00 at that price I couldn't pass it up. Just turn it on and make sure it works with a few test coins, Whites will fix Detectors pretty cheap but I would still only buy it if in good working condition they even fix their old school detectors. You'll have a top end detector for not much cash for sure, I'm kind of glad more people don't use the MXT cause their extra deep detectors that don't miss much in the ground. HH

Just happen to have my receipt on me Fletch, don't ask me why, it was 2/5/15.

I had read in another forum they quoted $150 to do this mod for a guy. I guess I will call to see what they say. I have had the best service from Whites Florida service center. They have gone above and beyond any customer service experience I have ever had with anyone.

Connie Seward in Oregon worked with me, she was awesome.
