I've decided to give my Pioneer 202 that I just bought off ebay to wife and buy me a new detector. I keep reading how everyone loves the Ace 250. So I start looking at them on internet. On the Kelly site it shows an Ace 250 and an Ace 250 Pro. Then I go to Garrett site and it doesn't even mention the Ace 250 Pro.

Which do most people use and is the Pro worth an extra 100? The difference that I can tell is the Pro comes with both a 6.5 x 9 coil and a 9 x 12.

I'm just getting into it so is it worth the extra coil? And why would Garrett not list it on their own site?

the pro package is just that, an extra coil. garrett probably doesnt have it on thier site because the promo is over as far as they are concerned. kellyco probably has some leftover pro packages to get rid of. whether or not you need the extra large coil depends on where you are planning on hunting. it will do well in low trash areas that you want to cover a lot of ground in, like a cornfield. in a high trash area like a playground the large coil wont be much use. the big coil will get slightly better depth as well. in the spots that i hunt, i find a small coil much more usefull, but i mainly coinshoot in high trash areas. it all depends on what you want to do.

The Pro Package is a dealer invention and has nothing to do with Garrett themselves. I sell the Pro package I have and the extras are the 9 x 12" coil as well as a set of headphones. Basically you're getting the headphones free along with a sabretooth digger and treasure pouch and a discount on the coil. All shipped free in the US.Let me know if you're interested or just check out my site. 8)
