✅ SOLVED Confederate States 14k ring?

Part of the inscription around the CS reads, GOD AND COUNTRY. It has a 14k hallmark with fancy initials, A F inscribed on the inside.

Don't think it's from civil war era. Probably a commemorative ring. Just my quick guess. Nice find!

I am having trouble seeing the type of lettering on GOD AND COUNTRY but it probably doesnt matter. The 14K stamp is undoubtably 20th century fonts. Read up on the 1906 Gold and Silver Marking Act. I cant ID it but my gut feeling is not CW era. CS may not even mean Confederate States. Nice ring.

Thanks Bryanhashemi and Big C. Just finished up researching class rings. The description on the early rings had a comment about the insignia attached to a simple band. This ring matches the description with a visible indented ring around the bezel where the jeweler attached corresponding insignia. Thanks again it was a great find. It definitely got the heart pumping a little faster... Art

I feel that its a class ring of some sort. The piece I read stated that early school rings were made the same way this one was made, it matches the description. The early class ring followed the pin. It stated that gold signified wealth and all that jazz. Thanks again for your input. Always welcomed... Art

Dont think its school ring. I now think its fraternal from the Knights of Columbus. Also known as "Columbian Squires". Their a Catholic fraternity and they say " for god and country". Hope this could help. gl

Good possibility. Im sure other organizations, academys and schools used "for god and country" such as Christian Scouting.
