I am posting this for a friend of mine, who has not had the pleasure of Tnet.

We had been hunting in a field that has yielded many confederate and union relics, some of which I have posted here. Any ways as usual he was not having a good I had him beat with about 10 bullets and a tompion top. Then he yells that he has a confederate button, and that it looks like a script I. he is finally happy that he in on the board for finding relics for the day.

So we wrapped up the day and he gloats about his button, now no one knows that there is more to the button. he gets home and cleans it up a little and out pops those two little words we relics hunters long to see C S well he is on the phone to me bragging and when I see a picture of I had to admit that it was a sweet find. And in dug condition and based on my conversation with Daniel Binder who is one of the most knowledgeable people on buttons that I know, informed me of its rarity and after looking through my reference books found it and its relative value, and wow in dug condition it can fetch up to $1000 and in non dug, it can fetch up to $5000. Holy crap is all I had to say. So here is the button for all to enjoy. And I did a search on Tnet and found only one other person who found one. Bummer I was hoping to get more details on the button.

Anthonycox,
Welcome to TreasureNet - That's one super cool find you've got there!

That is a great find. We are very fortunate to live in an area that still holds many relics waiting to be discovered. I can't wait to see what else you guys post.

Very cool find there Anthonycox and welcome to T-Net!

And enters Tony AKA Anthonycox LOL he is the bullet magnet. Welcome aboard Tony.

Wow, that is nice! Always wanted to dig one like that. Hey I love that green patina on the plate of yours in your profile photo. Looks like Culpeper green!

Same Field

Speaking of green patinas, another buckle was pulled from the same field, it is a US buckle and is complete all attachment hooks just dinged by the plow. But just as green as mine. The buckle was found by our other good friend Garry, has is notorious for finding rare bullets.
