So that hunted out lot, where I pulled the Williams cleaner yesterday. I go back tonight. Thinking just one bullet and I'll be happy. Hunted a solid 2 hrs with only one cannister ball( lead) in my pouch. I didn't want to leave but it was getting late, so I said just one more dig. I got a decent signal next to a tree. Dug down deep , ran the coil over the hole and its still in the hole. Dug deeper, finally no sound. Swept my racked out dirt, thinking bullet and pulled out a button that has eluded me since I've started this hobby ( addiction).. Not only was it an I button but it is in awesome condition. Edges are sharp. Solid cast. I've dug a Boreman fuse, numerous round cannister lead, about 8 good drops including about 5 enfield s from this place. Never thought I'd dig this button. A great relic off a AoT confederate soldier that saw action prob in Atlanta, Franklin and Nashville.

Very nice! Congrats on your first, hopefully the start of many to come.

Beautiful Confederate button. Congratulations on staying with it. That is a very fine example. It does not get any better.

Yep, that's one nice button. And good to see it come from middle Tennessee. HH

Thanks. To me I'm glad I got this button not only in middle tn but Nashville in particular as I've always focused on Battle of Nashville relics. Good luck this coming hunting season.

That sure is a purdy one. I don't dig those solid cast I's here in Va. Nice button

Sweet "I" button. Great find. :notworthy:
Congrats,

Very nice button....seldom scene in the Nashville area. They had already lost most of them before the battle (late 1864). Good job.

Now that is a find.......... I have found hundreds of bullets and assorted eagles, but never an "I" in 20 years at it (only actively about 5 of them). That just plain rocks. :headbang:

Well, now you need to dig a "tinback" block I, then an import Script I, then you can start on the "C" cavalry buttons and the "A" artillery buttons.... it goes on and on, the more you find, the more you want to find! Congrats

Same as you and have been looking for this one since I started..1996 can't believe it's taken me this long?
I can't tell you the pleasure it was holding it when I realized what it was and knowing the history of what that button had been through.
Battle of Franklin and Nashville. Crazy. Like I stated , just glad I dug it here in town as opposed to a camp somewhere..means a little more to me that way...anyway thanks

Hey congratulations on that sweet button! Hoping to find something like that one day. I have found one Union button so far a few years ago and I still treasure it.Its also also nice to know that there are still CW treasures to find in Nashville. May hit a few spots we haven't been to in awhile now that my husband is retired.

Excellent find! All that time paid off! Good job sticking with it....many people would have quit after a much shorter time!
