All legit, nice find. Each note was hand cut, hand signed, serial numbered and dated. It was more like a savings bond that would mature only after (6 months) a treaty was signed between the CSA and USA. The cost .08 per dollar in 1861
 

You did well, especially since you paid nothing for them!
