But I was not happy with the end result of my cleaning using peroxide and baking soda. So, last night, I soaked the button in a solution of 50/50 lemon juice and water and used a soft tooth brush and baking soda on it again. The results are much better this time. The lemon juice solution made all the difference. See before and after below. What do y'all think? Good enough or should I keep working on it? Also, the back is missing and there is still quite a bit of corrosion/rust on the back of the button. Is there any safe way to clean that? Will it stop corroding or, like iron, continue to corrode unless it's removed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
