Confederate Mississippi Bling X 3 !!!
To just find just one Confederate Mississippi "Infantry" Coat button in this condition is a dream come true................ but to find 3 Mississippi "I" coat buttons in this condition ..........well just ask any relic hunter ............ it just doesn't happen. But it did !!! Many years ago I found 2 other of these Mississippi "I' coat buttons within a short distance from where I found these. Those 2 were in soil that had much less sand so they had considerably less gilt. SO all together I have found 5 of these buttons at this site. IF they came from the same coat there should be 2 more left waiting to be found. Also found with these 3 Mississippi coat buttons was a silvered plain coat Eagle 2 piece button with a W H Smith and Sons New York back mark. Again ask how many of these silvered plain Eagle buttons have been dug and you will find out just how rare a find this is as well! These Mississippi troops not only had Mississippi I buttons on their jackets but they had 1840's silvered Eagle and Eagle "I" buttons as well! I feel honored and blessed to have been able to rescue these beautiful relics! Now where is the Mississippi plate ? You know I will be back!!! HH Devonrex
