Bone handle round tip blade...has shield on blade with Primble written across and on either side of shield has John Primble...the bone handle has ornate lead detail....

I would guess that it is a pewter detail on a civilian knife. About the right time period though... maybe a little later?

Maybe later. John Primble marked knives were made from I believe the early 1902's through at least the mid 1970's. After WWII, Boker USA made the bulk of them with Schrade making a small percentage. If it's delrin it is 1960's to 1970's
