If it is a couple of inches high, it looks just like the letters the power company around here tacks to power poles to designate routes. Kinda like a house number.

How do you know that the "V" is the first letter in the name of the company? Maybe you found the second or third letter. :tongue3: Maybe I'm confused about what you're asking. :tard:

I'm an engineer for one of the largest telecommunications company in the US. I have also worked outside in the field for 7 or so years. I can almost without a doubt say that is a pole tag to denote the name of the pole. For example a pole run would be 123U then 123V then 123W :) I bet that sounded like an excellent target though!

Thanks guys for the info,I do believe you are right on with it being a pole tag after doing some reseach on pole tags.

;D :) :wink: Good call :wink: I just looked at this post and the nail holes in the letter were also tell tell. I agree, it probably sounded great under the coil though!
