Howdy Treasurenetters,
I've been reading here on and off for a few years but first time posting.
I have been running a Compadre for about a year (my first Tesoro) in some areas with insane amounts of modern trash (multiple trash targets per foot) and it's treated me well. It definitely knows a good target when it sees one in between the mess and I've got some silvers and flat buttons to show for it. However I do have a question about it's behavior when discriminating.
Mine does not 'silently' discriminate, it's more like pops, cracks and partial or muted beeps. I have trained myself to ignore that racket and listen for the much louder and more pronounced 'Honk' if you will, of a good target. It is especially noticeable since I'm working yards with ridiculous amounts of modern trash. I would almost call it single-tone 'iron audio' because I hear everything, but the trash is pops/cracks/partial beeps and the good targets are a much louder, immediately noticeable, repeatable signal.
Of course if I'm over clean ground or held in the air it is completely silent.
So the question is, is this the correct behavior of the Compadre discrimination or should it be completely silent over discriminated targets? It's acted this way since the day I got it, but I've seen a couple videos of it apparently acting quite a bit quieter and I am wondering if I should send it in. Thanks for your time and input on the matter.
