I posted this in today's finds, but thought I'd give it a run here to see if anyone can ID it for me.
I found two of these close together in the shallow water of a small lake. I think they are modern commemorative coins but not sure for what? DUTY, SERVICE and HONOR sounds like a boy scouts motto of some sort, but I don't know who the guy on the coin is supposed to be, or what the significance of 1837 is.
The coins are quite light in weight, so I think they are aluminum or some similar alloy. They are silver dollar coin size.
Any guesses??
