My favorite place to get snowed on is Independence pass on the fourth of July...

That old Leadville dump was a bottle bonanza. Though I never went to dig there I did see some of the collections others obtained. I once lived there at the Delaware Hotel and I spent the night there maybe three years ago.

Guy that worked for me that lived over in Leadville showed me a jar half full of mercury he dug up there. Cool find, I thought.

I heard a story of a silver ingot that was found in the Leadville dump.

I love the bars up there. Such colorful people!!! The hat is one of my favorite bars of all time and I've spent many late evenings there when I lived there in the 90s. I think they still have their thirst aid sign. I was at bottle show up there and was at the dump with lots of other diggers. One story came up that their had been 13 gold coins had been found over the years at the dump. It is a huge dump. I guess it's private now. I found quite a few bottles when I lived there and sure wish I had been into metal detecting. I may move back someday. This guy at the dump had a huge shaker box and would load a huge scoop of dirt. Turn on the shaker and would look through what was left. I want to make one for our town dump!!!

Saint Patrick day was always a good time in ole Leadville at 10,200.

Yeah St Pat's in Leadville was a good reason to party, but the celebration was even better at Dooley's Bar in Salida with lots of beer and all the Corn Beef and Cabbage you could eat. Long gone is Dooley's these days and all the miners and cowboy's that would frequent that place 40 plus years ago.
