being i'm in pa also I know what you mean about frozen, I did get out yesterday for about 2 hours . detected around an old barn and it was still pretty much frozen yet , the few spots I was able to did were very muddy , by the way only found iron , like nails and small pieces of chain then I hit the mother lode...the machine hit 95 and a strong signal...I thought finally on to something good, ended up being a 4 inch piece of copper wire,...oh well better than the scrap iron I was finding

I was sure I wouldn't get out until spring given the deep freeze here in CT. But it has been above freezing for a bit, and the ground is actually thawing. I may just get out this week!

I got out Saturday for about 2 hours. 57 degrees. Found an old pocket knife. A stinkin Lincoln and a deep nickel along with foil, foil, foil. I was in jewelry mode. Catch ya later.

I tried earlier this morning before my delivery the ground was so hard couldn't get my shovel in the ground, I live in northwest Indiana I guess it's the same there,,,, should have stayed in Arizona
