Comb and a buckle

Buckle has the word wood stamped in it. Not sure what the comb was used for. Wifey thinks horses. Looks a little small to me. Any help would be cool

It's not clear what size they are, which may matter. But if the comb is brass it may be a hair straightening "hot comb" provided there is evidence that there was another section of a handle attached to it.
