You need to sift though that old privy. I've read a few story's on the excavation of those and some pretty fascinating finds have come out of those old outhouses. One story I read was these two guys would pose as a water department worker and they'd tell the property owners they come to locate a busted water pipe they believe is in the back corner of the lot. They'd go probe out the spot of the old privy and then bring in a backhoe to dig out all the old items tossed in years ago.. I read they made some good scores, until they got busted for their little scam.

Not too much gold was ever produced from this part of the state old digger. One tributary upstream from here some gold was recovered but it was a somewhat insignificant operation.
