Colonial tool?

Dug at a 1700s site, this copper relic looks to have been attached to something at one time. Maybe a tool or something?

I had an old snow shovel with something like that.
It had a half rounded steel blade and steel rivets fastened it together.

my first thought as well, don't think its very old, might be structural farming type stuff
