Colonial Copper Zeus

Hey everybody. It's been a while since the Zeus has posted. CKK hasn't been to any new spots due to the crops occupying our swingable areas. We did recently see that a hayfield was harvested. We found many coppers already there. This was a nice opportunity to find some summer coppers and relics. Kyle started off by singing out "Copper". It wasn't long after that and I piped in with the same magic word. In my case it turned out to be an 1818 Coronet L.C. I also found another worn copper of indeterminate identification. Same size and thickness of a Draped bust L.C. but could also be a K.G. III. My relics are as follows. Colonial partial shoe buckle, Probable Curry comb, Cuff link, 3 buttons with shanks many pewter spoon parts and 2 large square nails. And I mean large. It was good to get out and find stuff again. I've been coin skunked for a while. That won't be said this fall. Kyle ended up with a nice K.G III copper and Kirk found the Holy Graile of Coppers for our little group. 1794 thicky liberty cap largie. He is now tied with me in quantity. I am still up one though. I have the 1794 thicky half cent. I'm sure we will return next week so keep an eye out for future posts.
