"Colonial Tavern digging at America Gully "1854-1949

Hi all, Yesterday i used info from the local cemetry trust to get a few new sites. The first site was located a place called America gully and the hotel[tavern] was called the" Sir Charles Napier" heres the link for history and scoll down to the grave number 7 of Lowther ,Edward.

Right you are zoy,and there a 1917 mid-east coin brought back from the WW1 and the buckle which dates from 1870 ,the button is third of this kind i found and has the old coat of arms of the city of Sandhurst {Bendigo} made by Hammond Turner of Biringham England.A couple of aussie silvers

But is was looking for American coins from the gold rush era.With some 17000 49ers in the area i will sooner or later find a large cent or silver. Only a matter of time.

Lots of things to find there. Like the 1827 especially.

when i lived in Australia I would spend a lot of time in Lower Templestow... not too far from you.

Keep us posted on what else you are discovering... this site looks virgin and seeing the broken crockery is especially appealing.
