Dont mind me im going through the boxes of stuff i found last year that i never paid attention to....
This looks like a colonial type hat to me..
the material that crumbles i find alot of counterfeit coins like that..
It crumbles in layers..
Anybody know what this is?
I cant get Revolutionary War out of my head with this piece..Something about it reminds me of it??? :dontknow:

As soon as i looked your photo i thought 3 that i found looked very similar to yours.
I never had them ID'd but i always thought they were legs to a small coal stove ? ?

What size are they? If they are small, I think they could be legs to these Victorian perfume thingys. Breezie may know what they are called. This one is brass but most of the ones I received from my grandmother were a shiny brass plated lead/pewter alloy type of metal. The legs are easily broken off. Not bad pictures taken quickly from a cheap 1.3 megapixel camera with very poor indoor lighting. ;D I guess its all in the Macro lens.
