I got out to one of the old colonial homesteads yesterday morning for a couple of hours, a place that has produced several large cents and colonial era coins. I was fired up to dig this coin which has a bust facing left and you can read some of the letters of "Geogivus" along left side rim on side with bust...but not much else. Back is not readable (third photo down). Any ideas? Thanks for looking and thanks to Earthworks for the photography.

My guess would be King George II half penney?

Looks like there is a number (two) on the right upper corner.

Earthworks is most likely correct, a King George II Halfpenny. 1729-1740 and 1742-1754 era.

Super ID EW! ;)

way to go phil! too bad the back is so beat up but the front is actually in pretty good shape considering that its been in the ground for 200+ years! outstanding!

BERGIE,

I have been away for a good long while. Good to come back and see my good friends with some great finds.

Congratulations,
