colonial finds 2 LC and a "Rare" token
made some good finds this week where a house once stood in the 1800's. I found some flat buttons (some still had the gold gilt on them), 2 large cents, and today I found a Zachary Taylor coin dated 1847. The front had a bust pic of him in his general's uniform with "major general Zachary Taylor" under it, surrounded by "hero of Paulo Alto, ?? de la paulta, monterey, and buena vista. The reverse has an eagle with 3 arrows in one claw and an olive leaf in the other surrounded by "United States of America" and dated 1847. It is quarter size and made of copper. Any info appreciated.
