Another nice relic dug with my good friend NJLargeCent about a week ago. This was dug quite deep in a area that offered up other Colonial relics. It weighs in at 1.32 oz. or 37.4 grams. It's almost 1" in diameter at 127/128" or 24mm. It's 8.6mm thick. It has the cast design in the front which I don't recognize and there's a hole through it. Nice white patina too.

My first guess was they used it too hold down fishing nets or something in that nature like fishing line weight but I think it may be a tad bit too small for that! Hope you find the answer! good luck :occasion14:

Thanks, BTW where are the wire stud impressions? What is the impression on the front?

Near impossible to know the use of these handmade lead weights. In the UK they span 2000 years, every shape & size you can imagine. However, if you generalised & say Trade Weight, it could have weighed pretty much anything. Its not your typical Loom Weight but possible...
