Colonial Door Lock Plate?

I found this lock plate during a quick lunch break search. Its made of iron and looks like it was hand made. About 2 1/8" high by 1 1/2" wide. Any ideas of the age?

Looks to be made of Brass, never seen an Iron one.

Definately not as old as Colonial but might be Victorian.
