I popped out to hit the colonial site I have been digging. It is very small, so I double checked the whole area.. pulled the brass piece from a knife, spoon handle and then started moving the logs around and hunting in and under everything... it paid off!! Got that great VDI reading up in the 80s.. and dug a George III halfpenny... that makes a total of 9 pre 1800 coppers from this area!! Love it!!

Very nice find. Love digging those oldies. The site i've been digging is very similiar to yours close to 9 georges found all in the same area and none newer than 1750. Man this hobby is addicting ;D :headbang:
