Colonial Coppers from 2006

Hey, guys, I wanted to post the 3 Colonial coins I recovered this year. The green one to the right is a 1786 Connecticut copper found at the Grist mill site. It was only 2.5" deep and it was a thrill to unearth such a long-lost treasure. The middle one is dated 1774 and it is a Brittannia halfpenny (Georgivs III). I found this one at a 1700s plantation home. It was recovered in a large grassy field at a depth of only 2". I am guessing that a slave lost it while working in the field. What an amazing piece of history! I found it a week before the 1786. My 3rd Colonial coin for the year is very worn and "roughed" up. I think it may be another Brittannia halfpenny due to the III on the reverse. This was found at a different location at 4.5".

It has been a fun year. My twin brother, zoy, found 2 Colonial coppers this year. My uncle found 3 Colonial coppers, 1777 Spanish half-reale, and a 1794 Liberty Cap half cent. Paco ended the year with a 1771-1775 British Farthing. So, in our small club, we have found 11 1700s coins this year.

All of these coins were found with White's detectors!!!!!!!!

I've already written a few articles to them before. They gave me $400 free (I got free headphones + a DD coil). White's kicks ass!

PHOOTBALL YOU BETCHA

Those coppers are fantastic. Everytime I see one posted I can't wait to get out and find one ;D

Cool digs Doy! I found the 1799 Britannia which I posted in November but that is it! I probably found a few more but the ground here is very unkind to copper so I have no way of idenitfying what I have!
