Can't help with anything except, pretty cool piece to dig.:hello2:

Yesterday's total haul. This gives you a better idea of the size. The musketballs are american. There are a couple of dandy/frock coat size buttons also.

Native American pendant? Could have been worn around the neck on a piece of rawhide. Or a home made hat device? Very well made and interesting, for sure! Sub 8-)

HEY 101 IF THE BIRD IS AN EARLY DESIGN OF AN EAGLE , AND EVEN THOUGH KINDA LOOKS LIKE A SWAN ,MAN THAT WOULD BE NEAT. HECK ITS COOL PEICE ANYWAY. I WOULD PUT THAT JEWEL IN SOMETHING AND DISPLAY IT. THE T HANDLE LOOKS LIKE A GIMLET .

Now that is very interesting ! You might post it over in the What is it ? forum too - It does look like a possible trade item - seems kinda big
for a pendant . I have no idea !

I honestly wonder if this piece is (as someone suggested above) a piece meant for trade with the Native Americans. It really looks like an effigy pendant. Perhaps post in "Fur Trade Artifacts" and ask if anyone knows what it is. Include the photo with other finds, including musketballs to help with provenance.

That's a fascinating piece!
