Found this at a town common that I have found several indian head pennies and a tombac button. So there is some range in age of the finds. I believe this is lead but cant find any info on lead ever being used as a collar stud. It just has that shape which is why I think it is a stud. Any other ideas?? Thanks for looking!!

I would say it's a finial, or perhaps a pull or knob off of furniture, but not a collar stud.

That makes sense for it to be a finial especially. How would it have been attached? I dont see any thread marks?

Possibly cast as a larger piece and broken( the uneven bottom) it may have been longer, had a lug on the bottom , maybe even had a pin or screw cast into it (it is made of pewter or perhaps pot metal )

I suspect it may be a drawer pull knob.
