Colonial Button? HELP!

Hey everyone,

I need some help figuring out what this is! It rang up as a coin but after cleaning it off it looks like it could be a button?? Can anyone help me out with this one? I found it in the same area as the colonial shoe buckle and musket balls. Looks like it may have a little design on it. Sounds like a coin when it's on the counter.

I'm sorry I'm not seeing a button. It looks iron in the right pic with a spot or two of rust.
It looks really dirty, so it's hard to make out. If it is encrusted with dirt. Soak it a bit put it on some tin foil and into a toaster oven for twenty minutes at 200° after it cools most of the dirt will flake off.
The readings on your Ace put what you found within a flat button range but so will other items.
