Need help if anyone has any idea what this long punch / tool thing is.
Dug at a Colonial site where I also found a silver buckle marked WK ( William Kinman) dating to c.1788

I first thought it was a file but it's not iron/steel as I first assumed. It's a Triangular ( 3 sided) sides are flat (smooth) and tapered. It's solid Brass ( could be bronze or copper?) And heavy. Measures close to 8 inches but the tip is broken off. The back end has been hammered, is 6 sided and shows evidence of this with a slight bend from being pounded on. Friends have suggested possible re-purposed dagger or sword of some sort. A wood working tool/punch.

Thanks for your ideas!

Brass is not a good material for tools. My guess would be from a lightning rod or maybe from a pike?
