Hello All,

I've been sifting through my summer finds and have been meaning to post the following items for ID help. They were found in Central Pa. in an area occupied around 1788+- to 1900+-. Both pieces were found in a fields about 50 yds from each other. I recovered a GW3 and many colonial coins too worn to id along w a few mid 1800 large cents. I think the areas the items in the pics were recovered where in the vicinity of the houses where the iron furnace workers lived. Any info or good guesses would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Solution
My mystery has been solved. Thanks to all. As for the ring(Terret) I do believe that that is what it is, but I just cant find anything exact online to confirm.
Horse tack for sure.
One terret (rein guide as mentioned by Tony) off a collar.
The other might be off a singletree. With a fancier design than a plain hook. ?

Reins guide and gag loop?
I think Tony is on right path. Something to do with harness. I found a very similar picture to the larger item calling it a Latta Swivel. I am not a horse person so not sure what that is. It was listed with the Pittsburg Harness Company.

Good luck sorting it out.
