I collect all sorts of stuff...but mostly anything nautical and old.
I collect maps and books of/on Florida (gotta be old or really good).
Maps of Florida... All or parts... Both paper and digital archive... pre 1980... Nautical charts and maps of the Gulf Of Mexico... Mostly collect maps of the West Coast of Florida.
I also collect nautical charts of any part of florida or water surounding Florida including Bahamas... Jamaica... Cuba etc etc ...pre 1960.
Any books on Florida history... Florida legends...Florida shipwrecks... First Spanish explorers... Florida pirates... Early trade in Florida... Early development of Florida etc etc...And any book on treasures and or the recovery of.

Oh and dust... as with any collection you will also collect dust.

I collect guns, coins, shed antlers, civil war relics and starting to get a decent collection of metal detectors.....and my wife collects mason jars.

I like to collect old lp's i have quite a few albums.

I collect bottle caps.

I try to collect money, but it doesn't stick around so I have a very poor collection of that. Sold my gold collection when it got to $850 an ounce, on account of it wasn't going to go any higher, which is a story of my life. Basically sold 11 oz. which included some gold coins. I do still have a few small nuggets and somewhat less than an ounce of dust -- gold dust that is, got lots of the other also. I have a collection of guns, another of Indian artifacts, a collection of 45-70 cartridges (there were lots of different types of those manufactured starting in 1873 to present), I have some civil war stuff, mostly Indian Wars cavalry stuff which is what started the 45-70 collection, and books, lots and lots of books, real books, not kindle or electronic stuff, honest books. The books cover my interests in the historical stuff I collect. I have over 30 books on Custer from the Civil War to the final screw up on the Little Big Horn. About an equal number on the Nez Perce War. I have some strong opinions on the screwing those people got from our government. More than that on other Native Americans, mostly west of the Mississippi, but the majority are out west, Calif, Ore. Nevada. I have books on every kind and model of gun I have collected, from revolutionary war up to WWII. I like original source material the best, and that stuff is being reprinted today, which makes for a much easier and cheaper collection. I got interested in the Civil War because my great grandpa was in the 181st OVI, and an Uncle of my mother was in the 81st Ohio at Shiloh, so I got info on him from the archives, and did a lot of other research around his service. I'm 77 now, and the collection isn't growing, in fact it is slowly shrinking as kids and grand kids make off with stuff, which to me is better than them fighting over it when I die. Besides I enjoy seeing them enjoy it.

I am basically a cache hunter / researcher so in reality I collect knowledge. Frank...- five star.png

I collect old cars...it's a horrible hobby and costs a ton of money and you never get half of it back and your driveway is always full of junk and you have parts everywhere and spare money is spent on spare parts, or cars, or tools and your wife is always on your case to get rid of stuff but when you do get rid of 1 thing you need 4 new things to replace it ...but I'm not addicted I can quit any time!

I collect anything that is old or unusual. Coins, paper currency, stamps, pocket knives, guns, books, soda bottles, advertising signs, advertising tins, and record albums.

Collection of late 1800's and early 1900's wood duck & goose decoys, both primitive and factory...

And Hobo Nickles...maybe 350 or so...

And a 3rd generation coin collection...Flying Eagles my favorite...

I have a fair collection of "Indian Head" cents. Best thus far is a slabbed 1876 in MS60 condition. Always got an eye out for an 1877. ;)
Beer cans when I was a kid in the 70s. Still have a few.
I tried Morgans for a bit. Not much success.
Lately, I like buttons. Not many yet, but have a few keepers.
Any spare change I scrape up, I buy bullion. Not really collecting, but doing my best to hoard silver n gold. ;)
Best of luck to all in your collecting.
Peace

I collect rocks and shells ,a few bottles here and there and really just about anything that catches my eye. All goes in a bookshelf in our study that houses some of the militia my mister collects. I also collect cookbooks as well.

I collect dust. :tongue3:

I have owned seven slot car tracks ranging all the way up to a 188' monster. It is a crack addiction almost. I collect all the classic slot car stuff from the 1960's , All the Cox cars and the orange Manta Rays and all that cool old stuff. Pictured here is a 143' foot custom built tracks which is one of the fastest slot car tracks ever built. Slow cars turn laps of 3.5 seconds. So you can see it is a adrenaline rush , plain and simple. 143tunkel.jpgminiorange2.jpg

I collect and restore antique radios. Also have a coin collection of mostly coins found while metal detecting or coin roll hunting. My house is full of various antique furniture and a large library of old books.

My 19th century plantation style desk that I refinished a few years ago. The drawers were all lined with newspaper from 1943, which I was able to clean and put back in the drawers with a layer of clear plexiglass to protect them. The oldest date I can find on the desk hardware is 1869.

In my library I have a large collection of original US Army books and manuals from the Civil War to WWII. This is only of my more interesting older books. I would like to find some more history of the officer who signed it.

In my younger days, I use to race slots both 1/24 & 1/32. I use to rebuild the power supplies for a track owner.
I would rewind the stock motors. At first by removing a couple of raps from each pole of the armagher. Later on I just rewound them with larger wire. The motors would get so hot the commentators would melt. I even custom built controls. They use to call me pushbutton. My controllers had a speed dial that I would set for the fastest I could take the worst curve. I had two other buttons, full throttle and breaks. I built another with a voltage doubler circuit, but it was outlawed. Oh, the old days!

Hmmm, where do I start?
Coins......, License plates, salt and peppers, antiques, bicentennial memorabilia, Red Sox and Patriot gear, baseball cards, marbles... maybe other clusters put away that my bride could remind me of.
