Took the time last night to post my finds from last couple of weeks. They were found from two seperate battlefields. The place that I am hunting is also a prime colonial and Revolutionary War place. Several 2,3,4 (ring nose)minies, small caliber and carbine bullets, piece of cannon ball, pig iron, barrel from Navy Colt, ramrod(?) to revolver, a musket ball, one buck and ball, a skeleton key and slide plate stamped with "U.S.", and a colonial era shoe buckle. While I was out digging, in the same area that I found the buckle, I got a nice BEEEP and knew that it was something good. I opened the ground and dug about 4" down and out popped a blackened coin about size of a quarter and my heart SKIPPED a beat! The adrenaline was rushing and I was thinking maybe a colonial or CW era coin and to may dismay, it was just a plain ole modern quarter, 1971 I think It was a real heartbreaker, and must have been dropped by a hunter. However, I will not complain b/c I am still happy with what I did find.
