went out to Cape Cod on Sunday - thought I'd hop in the balmy New England waters one more time

DSCN1584.JPG water temp was about 46 degrees F - air temp bout the same-not for the faint of heart
was slow in the keeper dept. - except for sinkers and lures - but when I get those - I usually find gold
tide was coming in and wind was blowing harder - got a mid range tone hit - thought I might have a zinc penny -
was surprised to see white gold band in bottom of my scoop - made my day
crusted ID bracelet is silver (little over an oz)- was close to 2 feet down

Gold is always nice...I was gonna do water hunting..so I got an Excalibur II ...But had ear surgery and I can't go under water..now I just use my excal on land so its all good....Congrats on the silver and gold...I can't imagine how cold the water is..being from Massachusetts I know its cold..burrrr.

Nice find... :-) thought you found Loch Ness at first... lol

You're darn right it was cold! I was at the Cape yesterday for non-treasure hunting related affairs, but still managed to get my feet wet out at Race Point, water numbed em' right up! Nice finds!

You are definitely hard core, nice work, nice finds.

Nice ring C2!! You wouldn't get in the water in Tennessee today. HH, Q.
you'd be surprised - I ve gone out in blizzard before
solid ice only thing that would stop me :tongue3:

That's dedication. Ill go out in blizzard, but never in the water. I've actually plowed my front yard and boiled water to get into the ground.

Impressive, That's some nice art work.

The white gold is pretty nice too.

Just looking at the water takes the breath away so it's not for faint at heart that's for sure, congrats on getting the gold ring for your brave efforts in the 46F water.

My one nice find for the day... Wrestled from the frosty waters, lol.

when I was younger (in the 70s)- used to use a large screwdriver and a hammer
when I could not wait for thaw
- when I first got my XLT - it was in Winter of 1995 - had a fresh water beach they drained and knew as soon as it thawed - there'd be 50 guys in there
went there with a chisel & sledge and killed it - had to chop thru about 4 inches of ice then chip away at the mud - lucky this was not a real old beach and most of the finds were only about a few inchesdown -didn't tell anyone Id been going there -
I remember going there with some guys after it thawed - and there were guys already there - they were all complaining - I left very little behind
that's why I have my motto

Beautiful gold !
