Yes, I've done this on ancient coins and for a time a lady who has a special popular Coke website featured me as a coin cleaner who used Coke.

I contacted her and had her remove my name from her website but she still features the cleaning process.

I stopped using Coke because other methods work much better. Coke contains a mild acid that can have some affect on some types of dirty coins.

I USED PEPSI..ITS ALL I HAD AT THE TIME BUT IS DOES TAKE ALOT OF THE YEARS OFF :icon_jokercolor:

Olive Oil, Diesel Fuel, or Red Wine work the best, without destroying the coin. Silver, use alu foil and lemon juice.

Don't use cola for any coin you think may be worth anything. Unfortunately it seems to remove the patina as well as any crud. Electrolysis works wonders if you do it carefully.

Ever hear of using Taco Bell sauce? I BS you not! It works.......theres an article about it on the net or if I remember correctly right here on Tnet someplace.
