I was just ready to email Epack myself...Epackage is the guy to talk to about Paterson, NJ bottles. He'll know if it's a scarce one or not. I'd send him a PM about it, or maybe he'll see this thread. In the meantime, look around the base near the thinnest part of the hobbleskirt (about where your thumb is in the picture), you should find some very small numbers that will indicate the year the bottle was made. Good luck with it!
Interesting tidbit:
Back when these bottles with city names were used, the bottles would get very mixed up between the bottlers. The bottles would 'travel' with the customer and often get returned at a different bottler. Of course, the Indianapolis Coke bottler didn't care if the bottle said Louisville on the bottom, they just wanted a bottle that they could clean, refill and sell to the next customer.
At that time, my grandfather worked in an auto parts manufacturing plant, and they would gamble on who would get the bottle that originated the farthest away. My grandfather said that most often, the bet would cost 10 cents to get you in the pool.
He won several times, and the total pot was about $20...a decent sum back in those days.
My dad did the same thing!!!!!!!!!! Did your grandfather perhaps work at Chevrolet Truck in Flint, MI?
