the last year for 90% silver dimes, quarters and halves was 1964 -- after that only the halves had silver in them in 65 thru 70 they were 40% silver --then zip no silver at all --world war II US nickles 42 thru 45 (they have a large mint letter on the back) are 35% silver --the nickle was pulled out and used for the war effort--- the used silver instead--
