Coins & relics from yesterday (May 2)
Earlier yesterday I hunted with Michiganne and her friend Kelly. We had a nice day and as you already know, Anne found a couple real good keepers. I ended up with an 1863 Fatty, a couple buttons and some relics. Later that day I decided to go back to a trashy site where we had found some keepers before. I have started using the 5" Excellerator coil with my SE (thanks to Silverfreak) on these trashy sites. Was rewarded with another fatty (1860), an 1864 (not a fatty), an 1889, buttons, relics and what appears to be an old navy button. The back is corroded so I have no back marks to go by. What era would this button be? As you can also see, I got yet another old heel plate and some other interesting relics. The decorive ball is the second one I have found. It is hollow and I don't know if they were possibly knobs on the tob of bed rails or caps on the top of a cane or ....? Anyway, hope everyone got some good hunts in this weekend. The weather was nice here in Michigan.
