After getting off work at 0600 hours and pulling my normal 12 hour shift; I ran home; picked up my son and grabbed our gear. We got out for a ten (10) hour hunt where we wanted to finish off an area before moving to a new location on the Army Depot. Well; we found the old park area and didn't do too bad. My son found 12 wheats and another nice buffalo 5c! 1930-S! A couple marbles, silver plated spoons and old cars.

I was able to find a few silvers; a 1910 Boy Scouts Token; only 5 wheats and some nice silver rings. Only one gold ring (14K) that is no way old. The large silver rings appear old with one of them having a small gold nugget attached to its face. A kids ring that has an anchor and USN (US Navy) on the front. One of the smaller silver rings looked old and crude. Upon further inspection, I could read the inside and saw "United States". It turns out to be a SLQ that had been made into a coin ring!!!! Our FIRST ONE!!!! I tried to find some type of date but nothing...........

Also found a nice arrowhead in the sandy area after digging a hole. We have found a few from here but not this large. Worst part of the day, I wore a tank top and no sun screen. I'm paying for it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You would think after years of metal detecting I would have learned by now....

Thanks for looking and everyone be safe. Getting hot early out there!!!!!

Nice finds... Love the arrowhead!

Great stuff. I love the rings, but the arrowhead is a killer because it looks perfect. Check the mint mark on that 1939 quarter. I think that it is a semi-key date depending on the mint.

You have a very nice hunting spot at that depot. A nice variety of targets.. Man you guys found some goodies. I like that dirigible looking toy.

It's kinda getting harder going to same place. I miss finding the older stuff!!!! That's ok!!!!

Wow ! The SLQ ring is my fave by a mile !- this may well be a "trench art" sort of piece . You were pretty observant to
spot that it was made from an SLQ rather than a Washington quarter ! Great finds .

That's a lot of great stuff! Looks like you have a very target rich environment.

Woo-hoo! Great variety of cool items! :icon_flower::blob9::icon_flower: The arrowhead made my jaw drop - wow, what a beautiful one! :notworthy: Andi

That's a fantastic day with a great assortment of finds.

The point has to be my favorite...near perfect! Lots of rings and tootsies too. Great hunt.

that's a terrific assortment of finds, of all that great stuff I love the old cars, especially the one to the left of the fork, very cool design!, and that coin ring is really neat too, I watched a video on youtube how theyre made, very tedious but cool as hell

great hunt!!!

I thought I had the most obliterated SLQ but yours wins I think. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1433846220.944027.jpganyway that's a great set of finds. I especially love Washingtons in the 30's.

I would fall over after 5 hours hunting...

Epic hunt :headbang: Silver,Gold and a Arrowhead? How can you go wrong:notworthy:

basque-man, Your hunts continue to thrill us all, congrats! Your "space" car is a Manoil "Rocket Car," from the mid-1930's. Best I can tell, based on construction and where you found it, your atlatl point is a "Rose Springs Side Notched," circa 1600-600 before present time, (Developmental to Classic Phase.) But, Native American artifact experts can definitely ID it for you. Sub 8-)

Nice haul! If I could find a place that produced such a variety of finds I'd be there hunting as often as possible until my machine wouldn't pick up any signal in all metal. Cheers!!

The one vehicle that looks like a torpedo I believe was a car by Chevrolet maybe wrong but neat toys and aaarrrrrowwwwwwwww head, vanzutphen

We are spoiled here! There are only a couple other guys in the area that metal detect, but they do more of the common areas. We hit it kinda hard. Use a string to grid search!

Arrowheads, bottles and insulators are always on our list. Not much rain so the arrowhead hunting hasn't been the greatest yet. Having a few old trails and cavalry post and ghost towns near by help. Just gets to hot!!! Almost time to start night hunting again.!!!?
