There are a couple of times i got more than one coin in one hole that i can remmeber. One of the first was a barber dime and v-nickle in the same hole. Then there was the large cent and shield nickle in a sidewalk demo site. The old ones are easy to remember. There were some common clad finds also. Here in Montana while hunting with Lorren i got a nickle, dime and quarter in one hole. The record one i remember is back in Wisconsin under a clothes line i dug 51 bad shape pennies. I gave up and left more in the hole. They were in such bad shape. Who knows how many were really there.

Hi Pete,
Some of my favorate multi finds were: 10 indianhead cents in one hole, 2 Barber halves and one V nickel in one hole, and 1 WL half, 3 silver quarters, 3 Mercury dimes, and a war nickel in the same hole.
A friend found a roll of Buffalo nickels (except for three Jefferson's) in a fairgrounds once.
Don't ya just love it? ;D

Great job on the multiple finds in one hole. Did you see them all at once or did you keep checking the hole? 10 little Indians,Nice. Do you have any guess as to why the 10 Indian heads were in one spot?

Ed,
The Indian heads were found in a fairgrounds. they were all in the same hole. I kept pulling them out until no more signals remained. They were all in pretty rough shape though.
The Half, quarters, dimes, and war nickel were found in the same fairgrounds all stacked from largest to smallest and were next to a large tree. I suspect someone either sat down and lost them or sat there and put them in the pile and forgot them.

The only thing better than catching two bass on one plug is pulling multiple coins out of one hole :)

Hi folks.
I'm new to this forum. I read some pretty interesting posts.
I was glad to find this particular forum, it looks like there are some pretty nice people here.
I've done some metal detecting, but not a lot. I haven't figured out where to go yet.
I have a new Garrett Ace 250 and I'm very happy with it.
I hope to read a lot more of your stories. ;)

My best ever mult-coin hole was at the old swimming hole: three mercs, two wheaties and (drum roll)...last coin out of the hole was 1899 Barber half (at the time, my first 1800s coin). I went back a couple days later and ran it over the hole one last time for a goof and I had missed a third wheatie.

This is sort of along the same subject, but I would consider this cheating. Back in the seventy's I was the first to get to a row of parking meters in a grassy area in Baxter Springs Kansas......There were literally hundreds upon hundreds of coins resting upon the concrete that held the post in the ground. Many were silver. If I remember correctly I filled up my tank with gas from these spoils and headed a little further West....Steve

Back in '72 you wouldn't need too many dimes to get you to California. I remember gas in Wyoming was only 20 cents a gallon.
