First thing that struck me was the quality of the detail - or lack thereof. This doesn't look anywhere near the quality of a minted coin. Has more of a cast look to it.

Second, I can find nothing relating to a silver coin of any such design from that era, or any other. I think what you have there is something that was created either as a piece of mock-coin jewelry or possibly as bling decoration on a handbag or piece of clothing. Sorry.

Copy of a $20 Staint-Gaudens coin. But in 1904 the $20 gold coin was a different style. The Saint-Gaudens design was used from 1907 to 1933. I would say your piece is an "artistic copy" for jewelry. Or it was a fob intended to have a gold coin placed in it.

Based upon the size of the bezel, I'm guessing it to be about 1cm.

I think the bezel would be of more value.
