This disc is quite purple, though the pix don't show it.
31 X 6 mm and 13 grams. the right weight, texture, & reading for pewter.
Could this be a coin?
does pewter develop a 'crust'? or just swell up & get pebbly like the pewter button shown.

its bang on size for a Roman Bronze sestertius, but on the light side :-\ So if it looks bronze in the hand, might be your oldest coin :-\

The pewter button is late 1700s early 1800s

Copper takes on a purple color as well especially when its being cleaned. Up your way you may have a very old copper coin. Trying to remember my metals.... bronze is copper with a little time and pewter is tin with a little copper. So i suppose that tint could be coming from the copper.

The pewter button is definitely a crude Colonial button (1770s). :icon_thumleft:
