Coin weight?

Found by a friend at an old home site. Slightly bigger than a penny and slightly thicker than two pennies and it appears to have some kind of counter stamp on it but I can’t make out what it might be. If it is a counter stamp what does it represent? Thanks for any help.

It's a George the III Guinea... which posts it's own weight and value I belive. (no idea on authenticity)

The counter stamp might be an official weight/measures thing... I dunno?  It's called a Ewer (coffee pot)countermark - Ewer: London Founders Company Mark

BTW - after all that - yes, i think is IS a trade weight.

Guinea Coin Weight

The Ewer, as stated is an official countermark of London.

It was to weigh (check for fakes) gold coins like this:
